India Women win ODI thriller against England

Deepti Sharma starred for the Indian Women as they took a 1-0 lead in the ODI series against England in Southampton, making it 4 ODI wins in a row against the home team.

England batted first, putting up a formidable 258 in their allotted 50 overs, with Sophia Dunkley and Alice Davidson-Richards scoring half centuries.

In response, India's top order made starts but could not convert. Lauren Bell removed the threat of Smriti Mandhana, the leading run-scorer on the T20I leg of the tour, while fellow opener Pratika Rawal faced 51 deliveries for her 36 before she was bowled by Sophie Ecclestone.

Deepti Sharma starred, however, scoring 62 or 64 balls, ably helped by Jemimah Rodrigues, to guide India to victory.
